purpose:  Four very short dramatic monologues written for use in adult religious education classes dealing with Transylvanian history and theology.  Enables participants and observers to learn about the lives and thinking of: ISABELLA  (Queen of Transylvania in the mid-1500’s), JOHN SIGISMUND (son of Isabella and King of Transylvania from 1544 to 1571), BIANDRATA  (court advisor and physician to Isabella and John Sigismond), and JESUS (central figure in Tranyslvanian Unitarian theology). 

 

for ages/grades:  adult education, to promote discussion, as well as heighten participation and enjoyment

 

# of sessions:  (one or less)

 

possible uses: as part of any adult education course covering Transylvanian  Unitarian history, possibly for Partner Church Sunday

 

cautions: Be sure to leave plenty of time for discussion and think through ahead of time some helpful discussion questions to pose.
