2008 UU Partner Church Council General Assembly Programs
Join all the UUPCC family for a lunch at General Assembly on Saturday, June 28 from 12:00-1:30 pm.
This year’s lunch will feature a full buffet, with a choice of chicken piccata or vegetarian penne pasta, salad, dessert, coffee and tea for $35.00. We regret this increase from last year, but it reflects the higher prices of the Florida area, and we have continued to defray part of the cost in an effort to keep the ticket price as low as possible for our members.
Because we are required by the caterer to finalize the number of attendees by the first day of GA, we must ask that you purchase your tickets in advance. You can send a check to the UUPCC office (P.O. Box 88, Bedford MA 01730, attn: GA Lunch Tickets), or order on-line with a credit card here. We will have a very limited number of tickets for sale at our GA booth - #236 in the exhibit hall – on Wednesday only.
The lunch will be held at the Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six. There are no facilities at the Convention Center available for meals. The Hyatt Regency Pier Sixty-Six is a short distance from the Convention Center, so plan a little extra time to get there.
As usual, lunch will feature a wonderful slide show with pictures from our partners around the world. If you have a favorite picture you would like to contribute, please send it to us. We are looking for photos in the following categories: pictures of children, particularly showing them at school; pictures of partners working together on a project, especially if it is a building project; and pictures that illustrate friendships between partners. Pictures must be sent electronically to office@uupcc.org. We can accept no more than 5 photos per person, and they must be labeled with the location, country, and the year.
During lunch, will also present the Louis C. Cornish “Living the Mission” award to the Rev. Dr. Spencer Lavan (see article elsewhere in this issue).
In addition to the slide show, lunch and award, there will be a brief meeting for the purpose of electing board members (see nominations elsewhere). If you are a member in good standing, you will receive an Annual Meeting packet in the mail in early June. If you wish to come to the Annual Meeting but not to the lunch, please plan on arriving by 12:45 pm.
