Community Capacity BuildingCommunity Development is an exciting new initiative which helps communities discover their own strength and resilience. For details on the Community Capacity Building projects now underway, please click on the links below.The idea germinated in October 2003, when Professor Ford went to the Philippines on behalf of the UU Partner Church Council to assess his methodology in one community. Working in conjunction with the UUPCC, the UU United Nations Organization (UU-UNO) and with the support of the UU Church of the Philippines and Silliman University, he helped direct - a community assessment in the Negros Island. Through this process, residents were able to inventory their resources, begin to address the problem of declining agricultural income, and work as a group to prioritize the things that most needed their attention, in order to improve the quality of life in the village.
