Padu Church � 200 Unitarians

Padu is a large, beautiful village of approximately 2000. It is located in Jaintia Hills about one hour south of Jowai and about three hours from Shillong.

There is a small Unitarian lower primary school of approximately 80 students that needs some financial assistance in the form of a sponsorship program or a modest annual grant. The school needs help with building maintenance, books, supplies and supplements to teacher salaries. Recently, the government started providing some help through the SSA program (education for all).

Reverend Helpme Mohrmen is the minister/ church visitor. Philip Mukhim (young man in photo) has an email address and sometimes gets to a cyber caf�; he is willing to serve as a contact person for this remote church community.
